Skywaukee Returns For 2013 | Check Out Milwaukee's Skywalk System

As spring returns warm weather, it also ushers in a new season for Milwaukee's favorite walking-tour. Skywaukee, hosted by HistoricMilwaukee Inc., is the city's premier tour-service. It returned to operation after a shot winter hiatus in January, though as temperatures moderate, the tours become that much more popular.

Leaving every Saturday at 1PM, the tour takes guests on an epic trip through the city's celebrated downtown SkyWalk system. Featuring guided tours of a number of Milwaukee's most historic buildings, the two-hour event provides insight to the city's storied past and recent rebuilding. At two-hours, the tour is one to bring your walking-shoes for. Though periodic rests are allowed between stops.

The Skywaukee tours meet every Saturday at 1PM outside of T.J. Maxx in the Grand Avenue Shopping Mall. The tour is free for Historic Milwaukee members, and costs ten dollars for non-members. Guests six and under are free, while those seventeen and under are just two dollars.The Skywaukee tours run through May 25.

For people who miss-out on the Skywaukee tour, Historic Milwaukee will also debut four other unique tour opportunities this year, including a daily weekday tour. These tours begin June first, and run through October. The pricing for the additional tours is the same as the Skywaukee tour.

Also meeting in-front of T.J. Maxx, the Downtown “Thru the Eras” tour will meet daily at 10AM. The tour will guide guests though multiple downtown buildings, highlighting the city's oldest and newest architecture.

During the weekends, Historic Milwaukee will host another three tours over the summer. Focusing on some of Milwaukee's most lively neighborhoods, this year's tours introduce locals and tourists alike to Brady Street, the Third Ward, and North Point.
