The Rolling Stones will be playing at Summerfest this year,
and they will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on June 23. At this point, it is safe to say that just
about every person in the world has heard of the Rolling Stones. “The Stones”,
as they are commonly referred to as, are one of the most famous musical groups
ever, and one of the greatest selling bands of all time. The Stones were
originally founded in 1962 in London, England. The original group featured Bill
Wyman, Charlie Watts, Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, and the legendary duo of Mick
Jaggar and Keith Richards. Throughout their long history, the band has also
included the likes of Ronnie Wood and Mick Taylor. The Rolling Stones were
inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame way back in 1989.
Throughout their long history, the Stones have released a
grand total of 29 studio albums, and many more live albums. The first album the
Rolling Stones released was in 1964 and it was called, well, “The Rolling Stones”.
The Stones followed up with another album later on that year called “England's
Newest Hit Makers. The Rolling Stones most recent album released was in 2005,
and it was called “A Bigger Bang”.
The Rolling Stones are most known for their live concerts
though. Over the course of their 53-year history, the Rolling Stones have
performed more than 2,000 live concerts and numerous tours. The Rolling Stones
next tour will be called the “Zip Code Tour”, and will begin next month.
